Benin and Togo
Mission Report.

1. Support for the orphanage in Benin: fish farm and vegetable garden

​

We visited an orphanage in Benin where we funded the construction of a fish farm and the establishment of a vegetable garden. These facilities aim to improve the orphanage's food self-sufficiency and create a sustainable source of income. Two part-time employees were hired to maintain the facility, with a commitment to cover their salaries for one year. Ultimately, the income generated from the sale of fish and vegetables should allow the orphanage to cover its costs and consider expanding its infrastructure.

2. Partnership with the Cotonou Orchid Lions Club

We signed a partnership agreement with the Cotonou Orchid Lions Club, which will represent our association and oversee all our activities in Benin. This collaboration will strengthen our presence on the ground and ensure better monitoring of our projects.

3. Needs Assessment of the Amlamé Hospital (Togo)

​

In Togo, we traveled to Amlamé to conduct a needs assessment of the local hospital. This assessment will allow us to better target our future work in the region.

4. Support for the Klouékanmè Shingles Hospital (Benin)

​

In southwest Benin, we visited the Klouékanmè zonal hospital. We brought syringes and small medical supplies. A needs assessment was also conducted, revealing a significant shortage of supplies. In response, we have undertaken to provide them with a consultation table, which we will ship by sea, and all the waiting room furniture for adults and children.'

5. Strengthening the Optical Workshop at Kandi Hospital (Benin)

Finally, we fulfilled our commitments to the optical workshop we established at the Kandi District Hospital in northern Benin. We delivered 400 pairs of glasses for populations in precarious situations, as well as an electric reading test kit for the eye examination room. Additional equipment, including syringes, splints for the orthopedic department, and small medical equipment, was also provided.
