Mission Report Conducted by Solidarité Hospitalière in Senegal from September 7 to September 14, 2024

As part of the activities of the Association Solidarité Hospitalière, an 8-day mission was carried out in Senegal from September 7 to 14. The team, consisting of Olivier Janaud, Sébastien Bégel, and Ulysse da Silva, President of the Association, was warmly welcomed by the Director of the Thiadiaye Hospital Center at Blaise Diagne Airport in Dakar, where we arrived on Saturday. He organized a program for us, allowing us to visit 5 health posts located in surrounding villages. He first received us at his home for dinner, and then accompanied us to withdraw CFA from a bank. After a quick visit to the beach, he then took us to our hotel.

• List of Health Posts

On Monday, September 9, we were to go to NDIAGUIANIAO.

On the 10th to SANDIARA.
On Wednesday the 11th to SESSENE.
On the 12th to FISSEL.
And on Friday the 13th to THIADIAYE.

Mission Objective Our main mission was to conduct visual screenings, perform eye examinations, and provide free glasses to local patients. The goal was to treat between 40 and 60 people at each health post, ensuring that we offered glasses suitable for their visual correction.

Mission Progress At each health post, we were received with great hospitality, and we did our best to meet the patients' needs, thanks to the rigorous organisation and the commitment of everyone involved. The mission took place under good conditions, although the volume of patients to be treated was sometimes greater than we had anticipated. We worked efficiently to provide quality care.

Results and Impressions We felt that the patients were particularly satisfied with the services received, and this recognition made the mission even more rewarding for us. This sense of contributing to a noble cause strengthened our resolve to continue our efforts; unfortunately, due to high demand, it was not possible to meet everyone's needs. However, we gave our best and hope to return for future missions with even better resources. We still managed to distribute 300 pairs of glasses to the population during this mission.

Conclusion This mission allowed us to see the importance of our commitment and the positive impact of our intervention. We will continue to work on improving our actions on the ground and to provide even broader support during our upcoming activities.

As President of the Association, I had the pleasure of participating in this humanitarian mission alongside Olivier Janaud and Sébastien Bégel. I thank them both, and especially Sébastien, who, although not a member of the association, dedicated his time by taking leave to accompany us.
